TRACK DAY INSTRUCTION & TUITION

Track day instruction will help any driver to be faster, safer and more consistent.
Fast road driving and on track driving are vastly different; speeds, grip levels, track width, the list is extensive. The two driving techniques are fundamentally unlike and track driving can be a fruitless and perilous activity if all bases are not covered.
Every professional sportsperson has instruction, and it’s the same in F1. To be at the top of their game F1 driver still have instruction.
You may ask ‘why’? It’s because you never stop learning whilst out on the circuit. Furthermore, you’ll be happy to hear with track day instruction you improve your circuit driving in a much shorter period.
INSTRUCTORS
The 'resident' Track Days Driver instructors are Scott Mansell and Andrew Bentley (click on names to see their profiles), both providing a calm and professional approach to tuition. We feel that you deserve the best track day experiences, so we have picked some of the UK's best driver coaches to make you even faster.
EXTRA, EXTRA - WE GIVE YOU MORE!
In addition to the finest track day instructors (don't tell them we said that), we provide video recording and data logging hardware. These devices are mainly used for post-track day analysis.
The video recording allows for detailed scrutiny of your racing lines, steering input and visual awareness. The data logging is an invaluable tool, providing a graph showing differences in corner speed, braking points and G.
Usually our instructor will set a benchmark lap and overlay it with yours, allowing you to easily see where those extra few tenths are.
TRACK DAY INSTRUCTION FOR BEGINNERS
For beginners those first few track days can be extremely intimidating. A track day instructor can start to build solid technique and confidence to overcome the initial steep learning curve. For your first few track days you and your driver coach will concentrate on the following:
- Seating & wheel position (yes, it is that important!)
- Where to look & how to use vision
- How to brake with maximum effect

- How to accelerate with maximum effect
- A starter to basic track lines
- Where and when to brake, turn, accelerate
- Changing gear effectively and quickly
- How to drive your car smoothly for most stability and ensuring mechanical sympathy
- An introduction to oversteer and understeer
INSTRUCTION FOR ADVANCED DRIVERS
So, you know how to hold the steering wheel, you have you braking points sorted and you've got the car moving around a bit. That's it, you're going as fast as you can, right? Well, in fact no you're not!
Even though a lot of drivers have their cars sliding around, they can go faster. A car's weight and therefore grip, can be manipulated by the way that you drive it. Being able to move your track day cars grip around in different parts of the corner means that you can drive faster. These are advanced racing techniques, with tuition concentrating on the following:
- Advanced racing lines specifically to suit your car's grip/power
- Advanced braking - trail braking into corners
- How to 'bleed' off the brakes for greater stability
- Manipulating the cars mass to transfer grip
- How to 'heel and toe' correctly
- Left foot braking
- Using kerbs to gain time
- Being fast in wet conditions
WHAT WILL IT COST TO GO THAT MUCH FASTER?
We're glad you asked. A days tuition with Andrew Bentley or Scott Mansell will cost £250 without the Data Package (video and data logging), or £275 with the Data Package.
Our top quality instruction is great value for money, with our instructors passing over their decades worth of knowledge and making you faster for the price of one decent tyre. Bargain!
HOW DO I BOOK MY TRACK DAY TUITION?
When you are booking your track day simple check the 'I want instruction' box and one of our terrific instructors will be assigned to you for that day. Simple - just the driving to worry about now!
