BEDFORD AUTODROME TRACK DAY INFORMATION
Bedford Autodrome is one of the best venues for track days in the world. The brainchild of ex-F1 driver Jonathan Palmer, Bedford Autodrome is a purpose-built circuit for both corporate events and track days. With this in mind, there is masses of run-off and many interesting variations of track.
There are four main circuits, however, track days are usually held on the 3.6 mile 'Gran Turismo' circuit, a fast, yet technical track. JP has an obvious love for speed and it shows within his circuits. With fast curves, sweeping chicanes and tight hairpins, Bedford Autodrome has a bit of everything.
HISTORY: Before becoming a track day favourite, Bedford Autodrome used to be a RAF Station and took 5 years to convert in to the ribbon of circuits it is today. The surface is smooth and constructed from a low noise tarmac, to make sure the track will continue to run for years to come.
SUMMARY: Bedford Autodrome was purpose built with track days in mind and is predictably a great venue. With the differing variations of circuit a track day driver will never get bored. In addition, the extensive run off will keep your mind at rest.
