COLERNE AIRFIELD TRACKDAY INFORMATION
A track day at Colerne Airfield provides a great venue for testing both yourself and your track car to the limit. With a vast amount of run-off area, you can safely take push and not worry about making contact with a barrier.
The track layout at Colerne can vary from time to time, but organisers typically use a 1.8 mile configuration with 7 right hand bends and 6 left hand bends.
Colerne is appropriate for a track day driver approaching the edge of a cars limits – the driver can push hard and not have to worry about Armco as on ‘normal’ circuits. Obviously, this also means that Colerne is great for an inexperienced track day driver too – meaning that ‘green’ drivers can more safely make inevitable mistakes.
HISTORY: Colerne Airfield was previously known as RAF Colerne, utilised as a WWII RAF Fighter Command and Bomber Command airfield until 1955.
SUMMARY: Colerne is a perfect venue for all types of track day driver, from beginner to expert. With acres of run-off, the only thing to hit is another car...
