ELVINGTON AIRFIELD TRACKDAY INFORMATION
Elvington is one of the largest airfield track day venues in the UK, and benefits from having oodles of run-off. Even if it all goes massively wrong, you’ll do well to reach the grass. The track day circuit layout is designed to make maximum use of the space available and a combination of technical sections, long straights and brave sweeps make good use of that space.
A track day at Elvington is suitable for those drivers looking to push the limits of themselves, as well as their cars, with the safety of having acres of room to sort out a mistake. It’s also great for those new to the track day scene, where some of the traditional circuit’s barriers can seem a bit close for comfort.
HISTORY: Elvington Airfield is a former WWII bomber station, with the central run way being extended in the era of the Cold War to make it one of Europe’s longest. Elvington Airfield was also the home to Richard Hammond’s awful accident when driving the Vampire Dragster.
SUMMARY: As with many airfield circuits, Elvington has a lot of run-off area which makes it perfect for track days - whether you’re a beginner or expert.
