GOODWOOD TRACKDAY INFORMATION
Track days at Goodwood are always thrilling. Home of the much-loved Revival meeting it is a fantastic, quick and flowing race track.
Goodwood is a true achievement for Lord March and his associates, providing a highlight in the track day calendar.
Goodwood is an 'old school', super-fast circuit; a true challenge to any driver. Track days here are very popular, mainly due to the circuit being unobstructed by the modern track designers need to fill circuits with 2nd gear chicanes.
Madgwick Corner is the most daunting for a track day driver, with Lavant being the most crucial to lap time, as it leads on to the longest straight.
HISTORY: The Goodwood circuit became famous for its 9 hour sports car meetings in the late 1950’s. Unfortunately these classic meetings along with other great events were brought to an end when Goodwood closed its doors in 1966.
Brilliantly, racing started again in 1998 and has since become the home of Classic British Motorsport. The circuit is now used for track days and classic events.
SUMMARY: Goodwood is a truly awesome circuit for track days, so long as you are sensible. There is little run off, and speeds are very high. If possible I would advise you get some professional track day tuition, helping build up to high speeds safely.
