NURBURGRING NORDSCHLEIFE TRACKDAY INFORMATION

CIRCUIT: A track day at the Nurburgring Nordschleife is a must for any driver worth his salt. The ‘Ring is nearly 13 miles in length and contains (arguably) 73 bends. I (SM) have visited many of the world’s great circuits, but I think the Nordschleife is probably the most demanding.

Experiencing a track day at Nurburgring Nordschleife, will allow you to grasp the almost overwhelming grandeur of the place. With 33 left hand, and 40 right hand corners, dips, crests and technical sections, the Nordschleife has everything in an extensive ribbon of exciting tarmac.

Infamous sections such as the Mine, the Flugplatz and the Carousel make the Nordschleife an irresistible event on the track day calendar. Many people will just turn up at the ‘Ring and pay the toll to do a single lap at a time. The problem is that the combination of cars/motorbikes/campervans, blind crests and super fast corners is quite a dangerous one and you’ll rarely be able to have a clean lap. Track days at the Nordschleife may be expensive, but they will be the finest laps you’ll do – without the worry of nailing a campervan half way through Kesselchen.

SUMMARY: The Nurburgring Nordschleife is the Holy Grail for any track day driver. If you haven’t been, spend a day driving this truly awesome track and you’ll become a frequent user.
