OULTON PARK TRACKDAY INFORMATION
CIRCUIT: Oulton Park is a terrific track day venue, set in a piece Cheshire’s stunning parkland. Despite its beautiful setting, the track itself poses many difficulties and with little run-off it can be a dangerous circuit to drive.
Oulton Park has some of the highest average speeds seen anywhere on the track day calendar. This, combined with fast bends leading onto long straights, mean that Oulton Park will punish a sloppy track day driver. The barriers are very close, so drivers should only push hard once they know Oulton very well; a lot of seat time is needed.
The Oulton Park International circuit is 2.8 miles in length, with 7 right hand corners and 7 left hand corners, many of them blind.
HISTORY: During the 1950’s Oulton Park was owned by the Mid-Cheshire Car Club, hosting the International Gold Cup. This event attracted many F1 and F5000 teams, with Stirling Moss winning the Cup 5 times.
Recently the circuit was bought by the MSV Group and Jonathan Palmer, and now hosts various big events including the British Touring Cars and British GT. There are also many track days at Oulton Park.
