RAF ODIHAM TRACKDAY INFORMATION
RAF Odiham is a great venue for track days, along with many of the airfield days we sell. Many drivers compare the circuit layout to Donington, which in my opinion is one of the country’s finest tracks. However, if it all goes wrong at RAF Odiham there is not much to hit – always a good thing on any track day.
RAF Odiham has a massively long straight, so most cars can reach their top speed. It’s a first-class track if you are getting close to the edge and want to push just past it, as unlike ‘normal’ circuits there is no barrier to hit.
HISTORY: People started flying out of RAF Odiham from the mid 1920’s, but it wasn’t until 1937 that it was a permanent airfield.
The airfield was used in WWII, with Mustangs and Hawker Typhoons being flown out of the base. The airfield is currently used for training, gliders and track days.
SUMMARY: RAF Odiham has one of the best airfield circuit layouts in the UK. Combine this with plenty of run-off and you have a superb venue for track days.
